ALERTS
05/16/2025 Landslides continue to happen on 226A post rain we received this past week. There was a reoccurring landslide going South on 226A heading to the post office under Bill Carston's corner again. We also had several small sections of loose rock and mud from sections below our community. The cleanup continues, but we have made great progress compared to many communities in our area. If you plan on coming up to Swiss Village, please drive with care. We have had trucks overturned coming up and going down mountain. Travel with caution.
04/11/2025 226A will be down to one lane as they clear debris from Helene. The rails have been replaced and the road paved in spots. There will be periodic stops. You may want to use Alpine Gravel until this is finished. The Army Core of Engineers will be coming to the community into clear property for those in McDowell County who submitted paperwork. This will be another time we need to be patient while they have roads blocked while clearing tree trunks and debris.

02/16/2025 Please use Alpine Gravel today. We had a large tree go down and the main entrance is closed. The electrical lines were broken from this same tree and Duke will return power as soon as the tree is cleaned up. We apologize for the inconvenience, but again this is left from Helene and we will continue to have trees fall untill we can clean them up.
