ALERTS

04/12/2024 We are to receive strong winds through today and into tonight. Rain will be sporadic, but strong. Please be cautious if you go out for a walk or driving through the neighborhood. We had a large tree go down blocking Alpine Gravel. We contacted the Blue Ridge Parkway who gave us approval to cut the tree and leave it on the side. Again, if the electricity goes out, please contact Duke Energy so we get on their list and follow the texts they send out informing the community when the electricity will be restored.

01/20/2024 Our roads will be getting plowed. If you would like to pay the driver extra for additional work on your personal driveway, please flag him down.  He will be salting the road so as the sun goes down and the cool temperatures continue, we should not have black ice.

Please do not use Lugano or Alpine Gravel. We recommend you continue to use the main entrance. We have had questions regarding the mail you are receiving asking for signatures on the amended Bylaws per the Secretary of State who is requesting we have in our Bylaws updated if we want to continue as "Not for Profit".

We only need one homeowner to sign and the document must be notarized and returned as soon as possible.

01/15/2024 Most of you are aware of the weather we are about to receive. Please take precautions and if you can stay home through this time please do. We will monitor the roads in Swiss Village as best we can.

We are probably looking at black ice in areas. We recommend that Lugano, Alpine Gravel should not be traveled. Lower Cerc Des Alpes will be questionable. Lucerne will have spots as well as Alpine Drive paved. If you must travel we recommend you use Alpine Drive Paved. Homeowners on Bern Via please use Lucerne if you go out.

Again, limbs will come down and possibly tree's as we had the last storm. If or when you drive please take precautions.  Have your generators ready and follow Duke Energy's text for outages and if you know the electric goes out please text Duke immediately so we are on their list.

Wednesday

01/09/24 The roads are drivable currently in Swiss Village, but please travel with care. Lugano is questionable. We prefer you not travel on Lugano at this time. If you have to go out, please use Lucerne then out Alpine paved. We do not recommend driving on Alpine Gravel with the ice. The ice is heavy on the limbs and many branches and icicles are falling off trees throughout the community and on Alpine Gravel.

The temperatures will stay low today which is not helping the situation regarding the ice. If you can, please stay in and warm. As the day goes on we will get severe winds and much more rain. This will increase the problem with falling trees, ice and branches.

We hope the electricity stays on but trees could fall leaving the area without electricity. Keep up with Dukes messages for updates. Please be prepared and stay safe.
